Creamy Autumn Oats w/ Poached Pear

Ingredients


Poached pear:

1 pear

1 cinnamon stick

1 tsp cloves

1 tbsp coconut sugar

3 cups water

Oats:

1/2 cup rolled oats

1 cup WDOM full cream milk

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp vanilla

1 tsp maple syrup

Pinch of salt

Method Using a small/medium pot, bring the water, cinnamon stick, coconut sugar and cloves to boil. Once boiling, turn the heat down to medium/low and carefully drop the pear into the water. Poach the pear until soft (approx. 20-25mins). Take out of the water and while cooling, make the oats.

In a small saucepan place the oats, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, maple and salt and heat on low. Keep stirring until oats begin to thicken and become creamy.

Transfer cooked oats into a bowl. Top with the poached pear, coconut flakes, pumpkin seeds and a dash of cinnamon.
